- The City Climate Catalogue - The City of Copenhagen, host of the COP 15 in December 2009, together with ICLEI, are in the process of compiling the international Local Governments' Climate Commitments Catalogue. Cities, towns and counties around the globe are invited to contribute their greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction targets, in a first stage of information collection. - Local Government Climate Roadmap - Leading local government associations worldwide, representing communities around the globe, have embarked on a two-year strategy - the Local Government Climate Roadmap - to work for a strong and comprehensive post-2012 climate regime and to draw attention to the crucial role and interest of local governments (LGs) in climate protection. This roadmap was launched in Bali, Indonesia in December 2007 and is designed to be an accompanying process to the international negotiations leading up to COP15 in Copenhagen, Denmark in December 2009. In the process local governments are invited to share their views and needs on energy and climate protection.
- With the LocalRenewables Initiative, ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability supports and strengthens local governments which promote the generation and supply of renewable energy and energy efficiency in the urban environment. The focus is on the roles and responsibilities of local governments as the driving force for innovation and investment in their communities.
